Pizza Hut BOOK IT!: Spark Your Greatness Giveaway!

The Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program is getting ready to launch a new summer site called Spark Your Greatness, the goal of which is to help defeat that “summer slide” children find themselves in sometime between “I’m BORED!” and the first day of the next school year.

The site will be full of free, fun games and activities for the children to do including Read, Do activities, games, printables (including word scrambles and searches) and even featured stories from their partner, One More Story.

Participants will also have a blast navigating through the site, unlocking items to customize their very own dragon. The site features a tracker that will tabulate all the minutes and number of readers participating in the program throughout the 40 days.

The program was developed to address the summer slide problem summed up best by the National Summer Learning Association: “A conservative estimate of lost instructional time is approximately two months or roughly 22 percent of the school year” due to kids not being ready to pick up where they left off from the previous year.

The site launched on June 21st at www.bookitsummer.com.
BOOK IT! was started in 1985 by Pizza Hut and has shared the love of reading with millions of children since its inception. It’s the longest, consecutive running corporate children’s literacy program in the country.
