Orajel Single Dose Cold Sore Treatment Review!

Cols sores can be painful and unsightly. They can appear at any time  and for many different reasons.  There are several symptoms of a cold sore and each person is affected differently.  In many cases you will feel a tingling sensation or pain in the area a few days before the cold sore appears.

So what are cold sores?

Cold sores, sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters that form on or near the lips caused by an infection from a virus called herpes simplex virus. The skin around these blisters is often red, swollen, and very painful. Most often the virus is caught in early childhood. Once the virus is in the body, there is no permanent cure. Most cold sores will start to heal within a few days and are generally gone by 7 to 10 days. Over 40% of people suffer from cold sores

Common Triggers and tips:
Stress and fatigue: get plenty of rest, relaxation, and exercise to help reduce stress and fatigue.
Fever or infection: immune systems are weakest after fighting infections, so be sure to get plenty of rest and fluids
Exposure to sun, wind or cold:  sunburned or chapped lips can make cold sores more likely. Be sure  to cover your lips with a scarf in winter and always wear lip balm with SPF
injury to the mouth: injuries and even some dental procedures can irritate lips and cause an outbreak. Let your dentist know if you have the cold sore virus and consider wearing a mouthguard during sports

There is help!
There are both prescription and over-the-counter medications that not only treat cold sores, but can also reduce the pain associated with cold sore outbreaks.
Until recently, your over-the-counter options were very limited if you wanted to start healing in just one dose. Try Orajel Single Dose... with only one dose at any point during the outbreak, healing begins and much needed instant pain relief is provided.

Orajel Single Dose relieves pain instantly and healing begins with just one dose.  Their patented formula numbs the affected area for instant pain relief, and the  one-time use Touch-free applicator is convenient and easy to use.

Oraje Single Dose works best when used at the first sign of a cold sore. As soon as you feel a tingle, tightness, itching or swelling, you can apply Orajel Single Dose cold sore treatment. The  clear solution and easy-to-use applicator allow you to start the cold sore treatment at any time, any place.

The thing that I really love is how easy it is to use!

Simply clean the area Don't use soap or other cleaners, a dry wipe, water, or alcohol.

Squeeze
the tube to break it, which releases the medication. -You slide off the blue paper and place it on the opposite end to expose the applicator tip. then squeeze the vial firmly until you hear a snap. Hold the vial with the applicator tip down to allow the medication to saturate the  tip.

Numb the areato minimize the pain during application,  gently touch the site of the cold sore with the saturated applicator tip for about 30 seconds.  Numbing will last several minutes.

Rub- once the area is numb, rub the site of the cold sore and the surrounding area. Rub firmly to allow the treatment to deeply penetrate the skin. If your cold sore is open,  start by rubbing the surrounding area then firmly press the applicator tip on the cold sore avoid scrubbing.

Use all the medication in the vial and then dispose of the vial.

Each pack has 2 vials because occasionally a 2nd treatment may be required if it reappears or a new break out occurs. The medication has a smell similar to rubbing alcohol which isn't bad or strong. The scent doesn't linger either so that's a plus.
You should not use this product if you have a history of allergy to local anesthetics  such as procaine, butacaine, benzocaine, etc.
