Skillet fennel &black pepper bacon spread

My family loves bacon.  It's bacon bacon bacon in my house! so of course we were delighted to try out the new Skillet fennel and black pepper bacon spread. I mean, it's bacon so we had to try it!

I know it sounds funny ..bacon jam.. and I also know that many of you are wondering what it is...
well here it is straight from their site:
"We use niman ranch bacon and render it down along with onions, balsamic and other spices . It cooks for several hours until it is a perfect blend of smoky, tangy, savory and slightly sweet…basically spreadable bacony goodness!  USDA approved.A savory alternative is found in our Fennel & Black Pepper Bacon Spread. The aromatic kick of black pepper and fennel adds a flavorful boost to any recipe you desire. "

I was surprised when I opened it because it was moist and smells sooooo AMAZING! It reminded  me of beef jerky or slim jims. AMAZING smell! I loved it! My 3 year old daughter even wanted to smell it over and over again!  I added a little in with my green beans and wow was that a hit! I also added a little in as a rub on pork chops and that was an even bigger hit! It has become a must have in my home. While I have loved all of the skillet street foods I have tried so far and this is my favorite of the three. It's aroma is to die for and it adds an amazing flavor and smell to any dish you put it in.  I have gotten so many compliments on the dishes I have added this to.. so many that I am going to need to purchase more just to meet their expectations now! This has really set the bar higher! It's truly bacon heaven!

I was given this as a Christmas gift because everyone who knows me knows how much I love bacon. Well, I super appreciate your blog and giving the recipe ideas because I was lost. I thought about using it in place of butter when making a grilled cheese or any grilled sandwich. Your thoughts? I would LOVE to know about any and all of your recipe ideas wit this stuff. :-) thank you.
