About the book ( from the author)
Every woman knows Dana, the heroine of Skyy Banks’ debut novel, Soul on Fire. Dana, simply put, is a survivor. Her sexually abusive past has imprisoned her and she has unleashed her pain to a sea of devastation and damage. Not until she confronts her demons can she garner the strength to brave the road to redemption. As she begins her journey to release herself from the shackles of her past, Dana quickly discovers the path to salvation and freedom is anything but smooth. Set against the backdrop of the corporate world of Atlanta, Georgia, Soul on Fire chronicles a young, professional woman’s quest for inner peace and happiness.
My take:
I have always raved about how much I love Eric Jerome Dickey! His stories bring you to life in the book, they make you feel alive and inspired!
Well let me tell you!
Skyy Banks has a hit a home run!
I would very easily compare Skyy Banks to EJD anyday!
I was drawn into the book from the start. Not being able to set it down!
I fell asleep reading it a few times and I cant even tell you the last time i fell asleep to a book!
Not that it was boring but that it was late and I was sleepy, but couldn't stop reading!
I love Dana's character.
On the outside her life seems perfect but once you start tearing back the layers you see a little part of yourself and so many women you know, atleast I did. It reminded me of some of my friends, and even of myself. Her character is so realistic.
I love how Skyy Banks brought her to life and sucked her readers into the story. She doesnt just grab your attention, She immerses you into it. You hurt when Dana hurts, You feel what she feels.
I will tell you, the book is sexual in instances, but it matches the story line.
The book is a whirlwind of perfection!
It wasn't confusing at all and I found it very easy to read.
This is one book I will be reading again as it was that amazing!
I am blown away that this was her first book!
Can't wait for the next one!
